Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN and works as a SportsCenter News Anchor. She began her career at ESPN in the year of 2016. She is the child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been for a long time, starting at when she was nine years old. This skill helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. After 2009, the reporter moved to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico Border, she served as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm. She was a news reporter in English for 9 pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10pm, before returning to channel Spanish channel. She also filled in for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Then she anchor and wrote on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She was a reporter for the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason and the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Aside from this she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She worked as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. In similar roles for the network's magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She is the elder sibling of her parents. The family settled in Miami after relocating out of Mexico to the US. The couple divorced shortly after and in 1995 her mother remarried a naval architect known as Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. The couple stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime in which she was offered a job. Antonietta still a senior at high school but she was clear about the career she wanted. While deciding if Mount Union is the right choice for her Antonietta decided to go visit the school. It turned out that she loved the campus and that they had the kind of program she was searching for. Following the completion of the requirements for high school, she attended the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for many years, became a friend. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his passion for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
